The Street Maintenance Unit maintains the City’s street system for the safety of all Modesto citizens
and visitors. We also maintain all City roadsides and right of ways. Modesto’s street system consists
of 634 miles of streets, and 109 miles of alley ways. Some of the tasks performed by Street Maintenances
are filling potholes, small and large pavement repairs and crack sealing; in addition we provide sand
bags for our citizens during storm events.
To report a road hazard, call 209.342.2244 to reach the 24-hour emergency service. When reporting a
street related hazard or issue, be sure to provide detailed information regarding the type of problem,
the location and contact information should City staff have further questions.
